Mr. Briggs concentrates his practice on executive compensation, ERISA and employee benefits matters. He represents individual executives, management teams and public and private companies in matters involving executive and equity compensation. This includes employment agreements, stock option and incentive plans, employee stock purchase plans, and golden parachute issues. He works with employers on issues involving both qualified and non-qualified retirement plans and welfare benefit plans. Mr. Briggs has a great interest in employee stock ownership plans on which he often speaks and writes. He works frequently with family-owned and closely held businesses on ESOPs and other transition issues. |

| Prior to attending law school, Mr. Briggs owned and managed a family business. Before that, he worked in state governments in Massachusetts and Washington. |
