Client Alert: DUA Updates Website with COVID-19 Information

The Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance has updated its website to provide specific information about filing for unemployment benefits as a result of the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The website includes links to the online filing portal, the text of the emergency statute waiving the one-week waiting period for benefits, and a new handbook to address unemployment benefits claims filed on or after March 15, 2020.

This will serve as an invaluable resource for employees, and employers should share this information with their workforce, whether or not they have implemented furloughs or layoffs as of yet.
