Press Release: Bob Cox Honored by Massachusetts Coalition for Water Resources Stewardship

Award Recognizes Mr. Cox for Applying Sound Science, a Holistic Approach and Cost/Benefit Analysis to Water Management Issues

Worcester, Boston and Framingham, MA – July 6, 2022 – Environmental Attorney Robert D. (Bob) Cox, Jr., Partner, Bowditch & Dewey, has received the Joseph J. Superneau Leadership Award from the Massachusetts Coalition for Water Resources Stewardship.

The annual award recognizes outstanding leaders who embody the principles of the Coalition—applying sound science, a holistic approach and cost/benefit analysis to the management of water resources in Massachusetts. Coalition members include municipalities, public and quasi-government agencies, and private and nonprofit organizations.

“For years, Bob Cox has been an invaluable resource to the Coalition. We benefit from the Legal and Regulatory Update that he delivers during our annual Water Resources Strategies Symposium for Region 1. Mr. Cox has over 35 years’ experience helping clients who face complex, technically challenging compliance and enforcement actions throughout Massachusetts. He primarily counsels businesses, public utilities and municipal authorities in water, air, hazardous waste and solid waste matters before the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and municipal regulatory boards.

“I am thrilled to be singled out for empowering members of the Coalition,” said Mr. Cox. “Today, they are challenged to navigate enormously complex scientific, regulatory and budgetary issues while protecting water supplies. It is my pleasure to continue educating them on the latest developments.”

The award adds to a long series of honors for Mr. Cox, who has been repeatedly recognized as a top environmental attorney by Chambers USA and Massachusetts Super Lawyers. He has also been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL), reserved for those who rise to the top nationwide. In 2020, he received the Stephen G. Lewis Merit Award for Service to the Environmental Industry from the Environmental Business Council of New England.
