Rebecca MacGregor Featured in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Top Women of Law 2022
Rebecca MacGregor was featured in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Top Women of Law 2022 publication and will be honored at the Top Women of Law event on November 16 in Boston.
Top Women honorees were selected by a panel comprised of members of the legal community and representatives of Lawyers Weekly. The judges chose to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the legal profession while also serving as role models for young women entering the law.
Rebecca built her career out of two of the certainties in life: death and taxes, although with a positive spin. She uses her 20 years of experience to design estate plans that minimize taxes and avoid probate, working to protect those who remain after a loved one passes away. When speaking with Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Rebecca said, “We all know that these things are going to happen, so how can we make it better? How can we leverage what is necessary to your family and loved ones’ advantage and make it better?”
Rebecca’s interest in estate planning developed at a young age, when she grew up in a very small town with an extended family and saw firsthand how the death of a family member could have a devastating impact – or not. While in law school, she cemented her interest when she shadowed a probate attorney one day a week. She noted, “The most important thing I carried forward was learning to listen. We need to know all the players and the dynamics as well as the client’s hopes and dreams for the future and the realities of what they are fearful about.”
