Along with the trifecta of winter-related viruses that are spreading, hospitals and nursing homes are struggling with staffing shortages while also dealing with operational business issues, such as higher interest rates and mounting expenses. Mark Powers spoke with Bloomberg Law about the business issues.
Recent signals from the Federal Reserve on another rate hike have injected more unease, said Mark Powers, a partner at Massachusetts law firm Bowditch who specializes in restructuring. “There’s been this very palpable feeling that all of us are going to be in an interest-rate environment that’s higher for longer,” he said.
