Peter Cifichiello Presented “Funding Fundamentals”
Peter Cifichiello presented “Funding Fundamentals,” a virtual webcast that was hosted by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education on January 22, 2025. The program included an overview of the types of equity funding instruments available to early-stage companies, including simple agreements for future equity, convertible notes, and preferred stock financings. Attendees learned the pros, cons, and typical use-cases for each instrument, as well as the process of closing a transaction of each type—from term sheet through completion of post-closing securities filings. During the program, Peter provided tips for guiding clients through a funding transaction to a successful closing and gave practical advice on transaction management. Peter and his co-presenter also highlighted traps for the unwary. The webcast concluded with an “Ask the Experts” Q&A session.
