Worcester Medicine publishes “Affordable Care Act – From Repeal and Replace to Regulatory Reform?”

The Worcester District Medical Society published an article by Peter Martin in the March/April 2017 edition of its quarterly publication, Worcester Medicine, discussing a recently proposed set of federal rules that tweak various aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The proposed rules address the threat of adverse selection and upward pressure on health insurance premiums, as well as increasing the flexibility of health plan design. These adjustments, along with the retention of other ACA provisions, may characterize the future of the ACA, rather than an absolute “repeal and replace” approach.
