Press Release: Bowditch Managing Partner Robert Cox, Jr. to be Honored by Environmental Business Council of New England
September Event to Celebrate Mr. Cox’s Leadership and Environmental Industry Achievements
Worcester, MA—July 27, 2020—The Environmental Business Council (EBC) of New England has selected Robert D. (Bob) Cox, Jr., Managing Partner, Bowditch & Dewey, LLP as the recipient of the 2020 Stephen G. Lewis Merit Award for Service to the Environmental Industry.
Established in 1995, the award recognizes individuals for their leadership, meritorious service, and dedication to the environmental industry in New England and to environmental quality. Mr. Cox will be honored (virtually) with this award at the EBC’s EBEE Awards Celebration on September 17, 2020.
Attorney Paul Bauer, Partner and Real Estate and Environmental Practice Area Leader at Bowditch, stated, “I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award than Bob Cox. He is the acknowledged expert when it comes to environmental matters before the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and municipal regulatory boards.”
“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from the EBC, whose work is so important to the future of our region’s environment and economy,” said Mr. Cox.
As the outgoing Chair of the EBC Board of Directors, this is the latest honor that Mr. Cox has received for his achievements. Last year, he was named a Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL). He is also singled out for his expertise in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, The Best Lawyers in America, and Massachusetts Super Lawyers, where he has been chosen for inclusion since 2004.
In addition to his role as Managing Partner at Bowditch, Mr. Cox serves as Chair of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce.
