AiVi Nguyen Quoted in Worcester Business Journal’s “Changing power dynamics: The Kennedy Community Health Center has purposefully remade its board”
The Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center has been working to diversify their leadership over the past three years. The nonprofit healthcare organization provides healthcare mostly for underserved groups, and wanted to make sure their leadership reflects their consumer demographic. AiVi Nguyen, who will be chair of the board later this year, spoke with the Worcester Business Journal about the board’s dynamics and her plans for it.
“Every board member has a role beyond the two-hour monthly meetings. You dive deep into an issue that each subcommittee is dealing with and then report back to the full board,” said Nguyen, who joined upon Zolezzi-Wyndham’s request. “It’s a good chance for people to get into small groups and really feel comfortable speaking.”
