Jon Barooshian Quoted in Law360’s “The Insys Case Made History. Why An Exec’s Appeal May Not”
John Kapoor, founder of Insys Therapeutics, has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to appeal his conviction of unlawfully orchestrating a scheme to bribe doctors to prescribe the company’s flagship opioid drug, Subsys, to boost sales. Jon Barooshian spoke with Law360 about the current motion to the case.
“I don’t think there is any [question] that Kapoor knew what he was doing,” said Barooshian. “He knew the type of product he was selling was extremely addictive and potentially fatal. As the manufacturer of this product, he is held to the standard of an expert.”
