Paul Bauer Quoted in Worcester Telegram’s “As life sciences industry in Worcester grows, panel says city needs more space for lab”
While there was once little demand for lab space to build the life sciences industry in Worcester, a panel of real estate and life sciences professionals at the Reactory Summit 2022 Program on April 6 said the city needs to think about creating more space for a burgeoning industry. The panel, which focused on how to build a life sciences cluster in Worcester, was moderated by Bowditch partner Paul Bauer who leads the firm’s Real Estate & Environmental and Business & Finance Practice Areas. During the program, industry speakers discussed the growing strength of the city’s life sciences sector, why businesses are choosing to place their operations in Worcester, and the importance of building world-class facilities to continue attracting life sciences companies and talent to Worcester.
Bauer kicked the panel off by saying that the ecosystem for life sciences has changed in Worcester over the past decade.
“I remember doing some life science leases on the landlord side maybe 10, 12 years ago and there was a lot of space available,” Bauer said. “I think we’re going to hear today that is definitely not the challenge that we’re facing in today’s market.”
