Joshua Lee Smith Spoke at Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce Construction & Real Estate Roundtable
The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted a Construction & Real Estate Roundtable on November 19, 2024. Topics included an overview of housing development in the city of Worcester, an update on housing policy and the recently signed Affordable Homes Act, and a summary of funding programs available to support affordable housing stock creation including but not limited to the Equitable Developers Fund, Worcester’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund and the expansion of the Commonwealth’s Housing Development Incentive Program.
At the event, Joshua Lee Smith spoke on a panel that discussed affordable housing creation in gateway cities. Additional panelists included: Eric Shupin, Chief of Policy for the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities; Moddie Turay, President and CEO of the Mass Housing Investment Corporation; and Jeanette Tozer, Affordable Housing Trust Manager for the City of Worcester.
