Press Release: Bowditch’s Joshua Lee Smith Named Go To Lawyer for Commercial Real Estate by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly
Boston, Framingham and Worcester, MA—Nov. 29, 2023— Joshua Lee Smith, a partner at Bowditch & Dewey, was named a Go To Lawyer for Commercial Real Estate by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.
Involved in many of the most high-profile economic development projects in Central Massachusetts of the past decade, Smith focuses his practice on complex commercial real estate and land use matters. These include permitting, acquisitions, leasing, financing and environmental compliance.
Smith has successfully permitted a wide variety of projects involving high-density multifamily, public utility infrastructure, higher education, renewable energy, large-scale industrial and life science developments, and serves as an expert zoning witness in hearings before the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities.
“I am honored by this award and look forward to working on more projects that will continue to transform and provide economic vitality to communities throughout the Commonwealth,” Smith said.
Smith is on the boards of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Worcester Regional Research Bureau and the Southern Worcester County Economic Development Organization and is the former chair of the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce and board member of Music Worcester. He co-leads Bowditch’s Annual Economic Development Summit, which this year focused on developing for climate resiliency.
A graduate of Syracuse University College of Law and Babson College, Smith has spent his entire legal career, which began in 2005, with Bowditch.
“Josh is an excellent lawyer. We have worked together a long time and he has always been an ardent advocate for our clients,” said Paul C. Bauer, Bowditch’s practice area leader for Real Estate, Finance & Corporate. “I am thrilled that Lawyers Weekly has recognized his stellar work.”
